Greetings from Haiti, the land of contrasts. We have longed to get in touch with you to tell you of God's work in and through us for the past months. But the busy-ness in Haiti puts us behind in our connection for which we apologize. Now, it's time for you to seat back and sip on a coffee as we give you news on our lives in Haiti: New House - New Guest House (Eli's House) We moved to a new house in March. We now rent a three apartments building and live on the 3rd floor. We are using the first two floors as a guest house. We named it lakay Eli (Eli's House), as a place for people who are on God's mission to rest. Its a much bigger place and we can have our privacy as a family. Until you come and spend some time there, we invite you to visit it on line at www.lakayeli.com. Our ministry Our leadership seminars are doing well. As we said last year, we are focusing on the Wesleyans and three out of our four districts are receiving training in our Leadership curriculum: the One Million Mandate. Those participating in our seminars are very excited and very thankful to be learning those Bible principles. Carl has already taught 4 out of 6 seminars (we are advancing!). As a bridge between the Mission and the National Church in Haiti, Carl has been participating in National and district meetings. The issues settling the new superintendent in his position have been many and at this point, only God can move to the side those that are keeping the Haitian Wesleyan Church hostage. We have been losing young leaders left-and-right and more than ever, we are at the brink of losing everything missionaries and native leaders alike have invested their lives to build. Unless God does a miracle, the Wesleyan Church in Haiti will either explode or slowly continue to fade away until it is completely done with. Your prayers will be well appreciated for such a miracle to soon take place. New area of ministry (added to our leadership seminars) In the past year, Carl and I have been feeling unsatisfied with our accomplishments considering the many avenues of blessings the Lord has entrusted us through our connections. Not wanting to do as the worker who buried his talent to the ground, we have decided to open our eyes to wider ways God may want to use us to be a blessing to needy people in the country. Here is how we've felt led to begin serving in this area: There is a small & poor village called Babacco situated right out of Port au Prince (on the way to the Dominican Republic) that we feel could benefit from our influence. There is a small wesleyan church there and we would like to start a "compassion ministry" by feeding the children of the area every Sunday after church. Our project is call Joseph's Feeding Program and we plan on starting with feeding 100 children every week. For about $2, we can feed a child a balanced meal consisted of rice, beans and a piece of chicken. The program will be led by volunteers. This is just a small piece of a much bigger picture. Little by little, we are making a difference and reaching a dream of a better Haiti that only you can help becoming a reality. As soon as the project is approved, we will send you the Joseph's Feeding Program project number. Prayer Requests

OUR GIRLS
Bethsaina is almost graduated from Kindergarten at Quiskeya Christian School. She is learning how to read and does exceptionally well in English. Although she does well in school, we have decided that it would be better to home-school her & Thea this next school year. Heidi Bezanzon from Deep Water Church in Nova Scotia will come and spend 8 months to Port au Prince for this purpose. Zahra seems to maintain her good health. She will be seeing the cardiologist in June to follow up on her Kawasaki Disease. We are confident that she was completely healed from that. Thea is doing well. Transportation Needed Our family is in need for a mini-van during our 6 weeks of team building in New Brunswick & Nova Scotia. If you have a vehicle that you can lend us or know someone who would, please let us know. We would greatly appreciate it. If you also have a cheap place to stay in the Moncton area that can accomodate our family of 5, please contact us. We thank you in advance! SCHEDULE The months of May & June will be completely devoted to strengthen our team. We will be visiting our supportive churches and we have a few new churches to visit as well. The bulk of our visit will be in Canada. If you would like to have us share at your church, please contact us. Schedule we have so far:
