Carl was called to missions while studying for the ministry in Canada. Being from Haiti, he went to Bethany Bible College with intentions of returning to Haiti immediately after his studies. However, his burden for the unreached French people led him to pastor at Moncton Wesleyan for four years. In 2005 Maya visited a Haitian orphanage where she sensed the confirmation of her call to missions in Haiti. A year later, by God's providence, she married Carl whose desire was to return to his country. In May 2007 Carl and Maya were appointed to career missionary service in Haiti. Carl's vision is to equip Christian believers to be effective in both their general and specific callings, so that they can impact their families, communities, country, and the world for Jesus Christ. Maya's desire is for evangelism and discipleship to children, youth, and women. It is her passion to give them the tools to develop their full potential and to pursue their dreams and callings with the Lord's guidance. Carl and Maya have three children: Théa, Zahra and Bethsaina. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4 NIV).

Sept 2011 Update

New Email: caroleallison67atgmail.com

Kerry and Carole both worked in the education field at Sussex Elementary, Junior and Middle Schools until retirement. September 2004 found them packing to go to Ukraine with World Hope Canada on the recommendation of Anne Medders, WHC Executive Director, and the urging of Georgina Hayes, a long term volunteer with World Hope Canada. Their plan was to go to Ukraine to see what was needed to help street children but they didn't expect to lose their hearts to these abused, forgotten street kids who had no one to advocate for them...they were just throw-aways! Fast forward to six years later and they are just as excited to be planning their return as soon as the government of Ukraine will allow, so they can continue to work with World Hope Ukraine in snatching young girls from the jaws of the human traffickers that are so prevalent in Ukraine. What a thrill for them in 2007 when the Moncton Wesleyan Youth came to Odessa to minister alongside them. Teens helping teens and what an amazing team they were! They DO want to say that the financial and prayer support from Moncton Wesleyan has been integral in the ongoing work of WHC in Ukraine and they are so proud, in the right sense, to be an extension of the congregation and people who are very much a part of what God is doing in Ukraine

Currently she is rising up people to financially partner with her on this journey, when she reaches 100% she can begin. Her target date is January 28, 2011.

African Children's Choir
Newsletter Oct 2010

Steven is a missionary with the African Children's Choir. In this role, he is constantly on the move as a sound technician, an "uncle" (as the kids refer to him), a chaperone to over twenty young Ugandan children. With the other chaperones, it is his responsibility to essentially parent these children as they will be away from their homes and families for nearly fifteen months. The Choir helps show the world that its members, like the millions of abandoned and traumatized children in Africa, have beauty, dignity and unlimited potential. The Choir helps provide these children with a better future through education after their time with the choir is complete and by pouring the love and hope of Christ into them.

"It is my passion to see the African Church strengthened and encouraged by providing support where there is a need. I desire to teach Africans to reach Africans through relationships and partnership with each other. I firmly believe the Lord would have me reach out to people by learning their culture/language, meeting them where they live, to influence them for Christ and to teach them do the same for others." Selinda served with Global Partners for over two years in Swaziland.
