WHAT'S HAPPENING AT MW?

This Sunday Pastor Dave will be speaking on "Tricked" - have you ever been badly tricked before? You likely felt angry at yourself for not being able to see through the veneer. This message will point out a forgotten story where a hero of our faith was tricked.  If it could happen to someone close to God it could also happen to us today.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Buckingham will be sharing his testimony on a life long practice -  "The Blessed Journey".   The choir will be performing a mini concert.   Then come back at 6PM to hear The Cross in concert.

It's MOM'S DAY... and we're celebrating!

Every mom deserves some special recognition, and this Sunday, we're going all out.  (If you're not a mom- consider yourself reminded to go all-out!)

My son Kohl will be celebrating his mom Debbilea...  a little gift, lots of hugs, and extra special behavior, but he will also be in THE AMAZING GRACE RACE this Sunday morning at 10:30 along with a pile of other kids at MW.

My mom will be graced with my presence in the afternoon, and a Mother's Day present too... however you choose to do it-  honor a mom this weekend.

9:30    SPECIAL MOTHER'S DAY FAMILY JUNGLE JAM

10:30  The AMAZING GRACE RACE

THIS SUNDAY MORNING

This high-energy production is brought to you by kids from the Jungle, and then followed by a short message from Pastor Kathy.

These young racers are learning that the secret to running life's grace race is to follow in His steps but in their shoes.

Some Behind the Scenes:

Rebecca Steeves has been on maternity leave as a teacher and has given her time as the Director of Music for this production, teaching the children the music.

Grace Caines - teacher at Dance East has been teaching the children some dance moves.

Darr Houssen, Kevin Smith and Donna MacLeod have been working on the set design and props - making the set come alive.  They even had an extra complete set-up and tear down, followed by a reset due to a rental group-  SpringForth, the annual Youth Rally that takes over Moncton Wesleyan!

You'll enjoy this, whether or not you have kids.  This portion of the service will be a perfect honor to moms, and fitting way to get you thinking about the things your mom would come watch you do!  See ya Sunday @ 10:30.

No evening service this week-  spend time with your mom, with your kids, or with someone who finds Mom's Day a challenge.

Happy Mother's Day.

Every day this place is BUZZING!!!

MICHAEL W. SMITH was in the building...

Michael W. Smith was in the building last night, and my wife Debbilea had the best "date night" with or without me in years I think!  She was at the big concert, and poor lonely me stayed home-  she chose to go with a girlfriend instead of her boyfriend AND husband!  (Actually- I bought her the ticket as a stocking stuffer at Christmas, with the full understanding that she had friends who were much more into "Smitty" than I.)

He is one of the best-selling and most influential artists in Contemporary Christian music....and we got to host him here!

MARK STREET, our Rental Coordinator, is doing an amazing job connecting with the right events for Moncton Wesleyan.

TODAY...  the place is booming with almost 2000 District #2 school teachers...

While your kids are off-school today, their teachers are involved in a Professional Development Day- hosted here at Moncon Wesleyan.  This is a great way we can partner with the community, and expose the influencers of our kids to a great church in their community.  The parking lot is really busy-  I had to park a mile away!

SATURDAY NIGHT, MAY 5 @ 7:00

MercyMe is an American Christian rock band founded in Greenville, Texas. The band consists of vocalist Bart Millard, keyboardist James Bryson, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran and guitarists Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul.

The band formed in 1994 and released six independent albums prior to signing with INO Records in 2001. The group first gained mainstream recognition with the crossover single, "I Can Only Imagine" which elevated their debut album.

There might be a few tickets left-  you can go to our website to see what you can grab, but it's looking like another full house.

THIS SUNDAY MORNING

Pastor Buckingham and Pastor Tim Guptill- together at last! They will BOTH be preaching together as they present the FUTURE VISION for Moncton Wesleyan. You don't want to miss this glimpse into the future! This will be Pastor Tim's first message since his call to be Lead Pastor Elect, and their first tag-team presentation!

THIS SUNDAY NIGHT

Hasn't science disproved the Bible? What evidence is there for creation? Did we evolve from primordial soup? Can so many scientists really be wrong? Join Richard Fangrad from Creation Ministries International on Sunday evening May 6th as he presents "Genesis and the Gospel Connection" from 6:00 PM and then afterward, "Most Asked Questions Answered" from 7:30 - 8:30pm.

This promises to be an eye-opening event so bring your skeptical friends! Got kids with deep creation questions, or teens who have acceptted theories as facts? Plan now to come to this important service.

The Pond is bubbling!

Another season is here, and the pond is shaping up!  There have been so many pictures taken of weddings, graduations and other events with our pond in the background.  It certainly is a beautiful sight, and although there is still some seasonal clean-up needed, and some fresh fish -  it's looking good already.

The fish didn't make it through this past winter- so I'm on the search for new ones, and trying to investigate what we did wrong last winter.

OH, and if you see people looking at the pond, say something like, "isn't it beutiful!"  If you see people walking in around it on the stones or picking them up, please ask them to come admire it from a distance.  It's A LOT of work to keep pulling stones out of it and getting things to grow in it.

It's Date Nite for you and your spouse!

It's time to "ditch" the kids, grab your mate and come out to date night!

Join Alan & Tashya Dunn and other couples and enjoy a great time of fellowship and fun!

May 12 @ 6:30 PM - BOWLING!!!

Parklane Bowling Centre in Riverview

$8.50 each for 2 strings, inc. shoes, taxes.

(For those interested, join us for refreshments afterwards at Tim's/Wendy's in Riverview.)

Enjoy the Spring Sunshine!

Lots going on around Moncton Wesleyan this week, including a great community event last night (Thursday) featuring elementary kids from several schools.  Sistema NB was on site helping kids through music.  For more information about this amazing organization, visit them online here.

Lots of yard clean-up to do this weekend- it is supposed to be nice.  My wife Debbilea has both indoor painting and backyard tree work on a list she will be chasing me around with.  Kohl's been busy challenging me at basketball, I'm easily challenged!

Regardless of what is on your to do list, make sure you are making time for church this weekend.  Pastor Don is preaching at 10:30on Sunday morning-  "disTrust."  Make time for worship, and some personal growth this week-  you'll be glad you did.

THIS SUNDAY!!

Pastor Don is helping us look into TRUST, and distrust.  Pastor Don is a great Bible teacher and preacher-  come this Sunday, you won't be disappointed.  10:30 AM.
